Final round to what feels like the end of a long season. Abbie had
already secured Class B some time ago and there was still the outside
chance of taking the overall championship if Simon Shaw in the SEAT had
a bit of bad luck in the races and racing being racing you never know
what will happen. John was still raring to go in his Astra VXR and we
had a new driver in the sister Astra of Alex Ashby. Alex history is
Funcup which are endurance races of up to 24hrs so it was his first
time experiencing the cut and thrust of sprint racing.

weather for racing, but we had no idea just how important it would be
until later in the weekend.
Week end started off pretty well, both the Astras seemed on the pace on
the Friday practice day which had one dry session then the rest was
monsoon, perfect testing really as the drivers got used to the new
Dunlop Direzza tyres for the first time in the wet...

by John Thorne July 6th, 2009
Running a race team of
this size in multiple championships is certainly interesting. This weekend we
had almost every aspect of racing land on our doorstep, inter team car on car
contact, a big crash, race wins and podiums, a TV crew in tow, mechanical
failure and another incident of crap tail lifts messing us about...

by John Thorne June 9th, 2009
Well they say motor racing is a series of ups and downs and they’re not
wrong. The first round at Rockingham was pretty unpleasant for us for a
variety of reasons all of which concentrated on off track issues that
we were unprepared to live with...
