We started preparations for this year’s race well in advance, with the new workshop and BTCC Insignia taking time we deliberately developed the BMW E92 GT car for 24hr duty, a new exhaust, manifold, oil and water cooling had generated more power and we’d spent some time in the wind tunnel developing an aero package which was significantly better.

There are no words I can type that give justice to running a car in the Silverstone 24 Hour so this report will be vain attempt at communicating what we all feel right now. Imagine a period of time where every emotion you can possibly feel is neatly lined up for you experience over and over again like waves on a beach and you’ll get some idea of just what all the teams go through to get a car to the finish, I have nothing but complete respect for any team to attempt let alone finish a 24 hour race.

Its a funny thing fate, one minute you're just going about your business and the next you're helping the UK's most popular motoring TV program in their largest feature they'd ever done.

I was just picking up some more Bluefin units from Superchips and was happily chatting to Jamie and I spy in the corner of the car park a black BMW 330d race car. I'm always interested in race BMW's so I wonder up to be intercepted by a guy enquiring whether he could help me in any way (in other words it was a p*ss off this isn't anything to do with you type moment)...
