2009 SportMaxx Drivers
By Thorney Motorsport
Class A #9 - Astra VXR-R
John Allison
| Thorney Motorsport are delighted to announce the addition of a third driver to their Dunlop SportMaxx team, John Allison. Allison, who won Vauxhalls VXR Driver of the Year in 2008, will join Abbie Eaton (Vauxhall Corsa SRI – Class B) and Stuart Clarke (Vauxhall Astra VXR – Class A) in another newly prepared Vauxhall Astra VXR. "I'm over the moon to have a seat at Thorney Motorsport" Said Allison. "Running as Vauxhalls VXR Driver of the Year last year was a huge learning curve for me and I enjoyed every minute, however this year there have been major problems with the car and the team and we very quickly decided to run with a larger more professional outfit." "We spent all last year admiring the Thorney Motorsport operation and seeing how much they actually enjoyed racing as a team and watching the Thorney Motorsport Astra and Corsa walk off with most of the trophies in the first round was the final straw, we had to change." Continues Allison. |
