Servicing

By Thorney Motorsport

Thorney Motorsport is unique in being the only specialist Vauxhall tuning company who are also fully warranty approved by Vauxhall for servicing and repair, this means we can service your car and stamp your book with an official Vauxhall stamp to maintain your manufacturers warranty.

What we do is combine this peace of mind of full manufacturer approval with our central philosophy of treating your car with the respect it deserves rather than simply a method of getting from A to B - we're enthusiasts after all.

We offer the full range of basic Vauxhall servicing but also offer what we refer to as 'Thorney Motorsport Enhanced' servicing where we take a purely engineering view of what should and shouldn't be replaced on your car at certain intervals. For example, Vauxhall state that on some models brake fluid doesn't need to be changed for 30,000 miles and spark plugs for 80,000 miles, now this is perfectly acceptable in terms of component lifespan but to our mind the respective performance of these kinds of components will diminish a lot earlier than their effective end of life so we recommend their replacement earlier than the manufacturer to maximise performance of the vehicle.

In many cases we will recommend an upgraded component or fluid rather than simply use the manufacturers choice, Vauxhall aren't wrong in their choice but part of that choice is based on cost, we like to offer the opportunity to use components/fluids that simply represent the best available and not just cost orientated.

This isn't to say that we change things that do not need changing, we have the ability to test fluids like brake fluid or coolant to see if they require changing rather than simply assuming they do/don't so we really do put your vehicle under an investigation procedure rather than simply change things by the numbers.

This attitude to best of breed also applies to fuel. All turbo charged engines are susceptible to fuel type used and this is especially the case with the VXR range, using 95 octane fuel will certainly lower the performance. We recoomend Shell V Power.
