Thorney Motorsport Bring Motor Racing to Tesco's Kingston Petrol Forecourt!
Refueling your car these days can be a painful experience with the
price of fuel rising and the wait while you watch the dial count down
your savings a boring one. However on Wednesday anyone filling their
car up at the Kingston branch of Tesco would think they were on the
grid of a car race!
We were at the store to promote Tesco 99 Octane, a high octane petrol
which we use in all our racing and is also available to buy at the
store. Three of the our cars were present, the Vauxhall Corsa SRI,
Vauxhall Astra VXR and BMW M3 along with our respective drivers, Leyton
Clarke, Simon Shaw and John Thorne.
It was quite fun really, We were expecting a bit of hostility from the
public seeing as this is a very busy fuel station but the response has
been overwhelmingly positive, We’ve never seen so many people taking
pictures while they fill their cars!”
Store trade manager Paul Barwick added “We were keen to ensure our
customers weren’t delayed but it all went very smoothly, the response
was great with even staff coming over from the store to have their
pictures taken with the cars and the team.”
We have been using the high performance Tesco 99 Octane fuel for some
time and the fact we race on the same fuel as you can buy at the
forecourt is testimony to its quality.
“Tesco 99 Octane really is impressive, you get more power from the car and your mpg is improved as well”
Following the great response from the public we plan to co-promote in
some form in the next month. One plan is for a race car to be displayed
in store ahead of the Silverstone 24 hour race on September 19th so
watch out next time you go shopping, you may walk down an aisle and
come face to face with a race car!
