The Astra G (Mk4), the VX220 Turbo and now the Astra VXR all share the same basic engine. The VXR (Astra H) has quite a few engine internal changes and a different turbo but all three have similar ECU's and identical basic engine configurations. So it'd be a bit daft of us to spend years perfecting the VX220 Turbo tuning, then spend just as long developing the VXR model and ignore the Astra G wouldn't it?
The tuning packages are available for coupe or hatch, GSI and SRI and are especially suitable for the 888 (we used one as one of the development cars)
The engine is also quite susceptable to the type of fuel used. Following a year of extensive testing we recommend the use of Tesco 99 Octane fuel to ensure the best performance and protection for your car. You can read the full test report HERE
Thorney Motorport Zafira GSI Power Pack One - £550
ECU remap. Approx +30bhp and 35lbs torque
The Zafira GSi really is one of those ground breaking vehicles and the Zafira VXR version carries on the theme but the power delivery is still quite sharp for a car of this type. Fortunately a simple ECU remap not only adds a great chunk of power but also smooths this power out nicely.

Your car under goes a thorough check with official Vauxhall diagnostic equipment before we even start on any remapping and the map can be custom designed for the car on our rolling road should you require. Your car is also test driven after all the work has been completed to ensure it meets with our high standards before we pass it back. Our money back guarranty applies to all our work, if you don't like it, then you don't pay - simple. Includes full before and after power runs on our dyno and map modifications to suit the car if required.
Thorney Motorsport Zafira GSI Power Pack Two - £1699
ECU remap and Milltek Sport full exhaust system. Approx +40bhp and 45lbs torque
The Milltek Sport exhaust for the Zafira GSI has been one of the surprise best sellers for the range. The full system comprises a precat replacement pipe, a 200 cell race cat (using a proper motorsport race cat, not some no named special) a performance centre section and a performance rear silencer. Performance gains are noticeable and measured at about an extra 8-10bhp just for the exhaust.

The heat reducing attributes of the sports exhaust allow us to run a more agressive ECU remap for the car allowing us to generate even more power whilst still retaining 100% reliability and longevity for the engine. The gains are quite impressive with midrange especially a huge improvement in bhp and torque.

As usual your car undergoes thorough pre and post modification checks and the price includes full fitting of the full Milltek Sport VXR exhaust system and full before and after power runs on our dyno and map modifications to suit the car if required.
Thorney Motorsport Zafira GSI Power Pack Three - £TBC
ECU remap, Milltek Sport exhaust, Front Mount Intercooler
The addition of the front mount intercooler has a tremendous effect on air intake temperatures - the bane of turbo charged cars. Whilst the standard intercooler is quite effective at normal levels of tune by adding extra power the car needs to pay extra attention to increases in air intake temperatures. We've tested every single front mount on the market and the one from Pace simply comes out on top every time. No cutting to the bodywork is required at all so it can be easily unistalled if required and comes complete with its own fan and wiring. Price as usual includes all fitting.
