Firstly a full diagnostic run is taken in the car as standard and full diagnostic ECU check is performed to ensure that all is running right with the car before any modifications are made.
We then re-programme the car ECU via the OBD port and upgrade the fuel and ignition curves to deliver an enhanced power delivery. We then run a further diagnostic run on the car and the ECU to ensure all is perfect. The power gains from a simple remap are actually very good, there is a noticeable increase in torque in the midrange and the whole drive is smoother thoughout the rev range. As usual you get to drive before you pay so don't take our word for it!  We also remove the speed limiter as part of the deal.

The full Thorney Motorsport system has been some time coming but it really has been worth the wait. We've now added a pair of 100 cell HJS race cats to the (already highly acclaimed) cat back and the difference is phenomenal - just adding the exhaust onto the car adds almost 15bhp which is impressive for a normally aspirated 8 cylinder.  Noise is also tremendously improved, the full system sounds like a NASCAR racer at full chat and sounds fantastic whilst still remaining perfectly quiet whilst motorway cruisng - very much one of our best systems for the BMW.
In addition to the race cats the system comprises a centre Y pipe and a pair of silencers with a subtle but agressive tip design with quad rolled edge round tips - its looks classy but at the same time quite menacing.
The extra airflow offered by our system allows us to advance the map to a greater degree and make use of the extra efficiency, the stage 2 tune really does feel like another car. Revs and speed pick up qucker, the torque is improved thorugh out the rev range and the top end is now rampant, it really flies above 4k rpm. Of course we also remove the speed limiter for you at the same time.

We're currently developing an extensive range of engine modifications to reach 450bhp from this engine withou the need to resort to forced induction.
