The VXR Vectra really has a fantastic engine which is capable of so much more, indeed it feels under-utilised in the chassis. The power delivery is a lot smoother than the VXR Astra but it does need more to move the heavier chassis. All of our maps are dual stage, in non-sport mode the power level and delivery is enhanced over standard but not extensively so the car is relatively close to standard but with the Sport button engaged full power is unleashed.
The engine is
quite susceptible to the type of fuel used. Following a year of extensive
testing we recommend the use of higher octane fuel to ensure the best performance
and protection for your car.

This is without doubt one of the most untapped engines we've seen for some time, its not often we can gain such large BHP and torque numbers just from a ECU remap and such are the gains we're now looking into further modifications to see where else we can go from here. A 25BHP (45BHP for the 280 Model) gain in peak power and 40BHP (80BHP for the 280 Model) in the mid-range are typical along with almost 85llb's of torque is the norm - simply a transformed car.
We run complete diagnostic runs on your car both on the road and the dyno with a Tech 2 diagnostic computer running to ensure all is fine with your car before we remap the ECU then we simply change the parameters of the ECU to generate more power whilst at the same time keeping the engine safe and secure. Wow, what an engine. Simply one of the most impressive set of gains from simple ECU remapping and relatively minor exhaust modifications - very very impressive. In the midrange and peak power areas you gain over 50bhp and almost 90llb's of torque it really is a different car. The charts show the power coming off a little earlier but this is more due to how they are run on the dyno than on the road, the power simply hits you like a brick wall from 2400rpm and carries on straight to the red-line.
The uprgraded Vectra VXR system is on of our own unique systems researched and developed by ourselves and comprises a cat back system with wider bore pipe and redesigned centre and rear sections. The power gains are excellent due to the ability to remove the second cat from the system (still complying with MOT regulations) and are very noticeable (both on the road and on the dyno) so its a useful gain over and above the OEM system (as well as shedding a fair bit of weight). Noise wise the change of note and tone is subtle and certainly not intrusive especially at motorway speeds but does make the car sound a little more aggressive than standard so is a nice compromise. The system is available with resonated and non resonated versions.
As usual we undertake diagnostic work on the car before we start tuning, with dyno runs and Tech 2 analysis of the car before, during and after any work so you get to see the power gains on your car before and after the work. Again, a full money back guarantee is offered (as with all our work). |

Finally, after 2 years of R&D we can release our Vectra VXR Stage 3 conversion. The results are spectacular and a little frightening. We could have gone a lot further, but need to keep something back for Stage 4!
When developing the power upgrades for the Vectra it was clear from the outset that intake temperatures were keeping the power down no doubt related to the fact that the cats are fitted right up on the manifold but its taken us some time to develop a proper solution to allow the engine to release more power.
After a long development with our intercooler partners we have now developed what can only be described as a ‘huge’ intercooler for the Vectra. The results are astounding, intake temps even on a dyno run are halved and as such we are able to be a lot more aggressive on the mapping to generate extra power. In short, we have so much torque now that we’ve had to cap it to protect the clutch, 450lb is nearly 100lb more than an E60 M5. We recommend an LSD with this upgrade. |
