This is a sad story really but hopefully some good will come from tragedy.
This McLaren 650S Spider was owned by a good customer of ours, Paul Searle. Paul was your typical petrolhead, loved his cars and both enjoyed them and treated them with care and attention. We looked after both his McLarens (his 675LT Spider is also for sale here) and its fair to say he got to know the whole team here well. It was with great shock to hear that Paul was tragically killed in a car accident whilst driving his Canam.
In the course of dealing with his family the issue of his cars and what to do with them following his death we learnt that not only was Paul a great guy but he was also a true human being and had helped found The African Trust a charity with the aim of providing clean drinking water to third World countries in Africa where such a life giving resource was not available. We all had no idea of the extent of his charitable work or the good he had done, we just knew him as Paul, all round great McLaren owner.
So, with the families support and approval the proceeds of the sale of his 675LT listed here will all go to his charity The African Trust. We are also donating our sales fee to the same cause.
As for the car, well its a truly stunning example and utterly unique, Paul specced the car to match his 675LT so it has a carbon fibre bonnet, MSO carbon fibre louvred wings, carbon fibre bumper, rear bumper, wing mirrors and the roof is wrapped black to match the carbon fibre roof on the 675LT. It really is a stunning example. The interior is classic black leather with MSO red seat belts.
So get a a great McLaren and help your less fortunate at the same time.
RIP Paul, hopefully you’re looking down and seeing your legacy continue after your death.
