McLaren Paint
When we first started McLaren work we didn't consider undertaking paintwork on the cars, however when McLaren decided to refuse to cover 'corrosion' issues on the cars we had to step in.
We've done a variety of videos on the issues that the cars face, check out our Youtube site below for the full gory details but in short the issue in one of manufacture not environmental so whilst we refer to it as corrosion its really an issue created during manufacturing and as such there is very little as an owner you can do to prevent it.
For the aluminium panels its a reaction of the metal to the primer and paint so over time the area will oxidise and cause bubbles underneath the paint. The only way to correct it is to rub the area down to the bare metal and re-prepare with the correct coatings. The issue usually only affects the edges of the panels.
With the composite panels the issue is one of a vapour build up under the paint, again the fix is a full rub down to bare material and re-prepare and paint. Every McLaren model is affected.
Since we began we have developed an extensive paint and bodywork operation and repair two McLarens a week. We can match any paint (including all the MSO ones) without issue and we offer a three year warranty for any work undertake.
We can also offer full body off resprays, colour changes and accident repairs under insurance or otherwise.
