Its fair to say we must have replaced more accumulators that most people out there so its a been a bit of a passion of ours to come up with a better solution than OEM and their limited life, although changing them every 5 years or isnt awful the fact that McLaren keep putting the prices up is and we are all about keeping McLaren ownership as cost effective as possible. Our new accumulator has been designed to do exactly that.
We are not fans of the 765 accumulator, promoted by McLaren as an ‘upgrade’ to the 720 version, the fact is that its simply not true, the 765 accumulator uses an internal ram and spring to actuate and its awful, a significantly worse ride than the original version to the extent that it wrecks one of the cars most unique features of a comfortable ride setting; the only reason they changed was due to cost and perceived longevity.
Central to our accumulator is the retention of the original 720 internal diaphragm design which we feel is essential to maintain the ride comfort from the suspension, the issue with the OEM versions is that this diaphragm is too thin so eventually splits so ours is much thicker so retains the function but is significantly more long lasting, ours all have a 2 year, unlimited mileage warranty. Ride comfort is identical to OEM as if you were using brand new accumulators.
Price is for a single unit, you need to replace all 4 on the car at the same time (unless changing shocks which come with them fitted)
