McLaren Suspension Damper Refurbishment

It never made sense to us that any failure of a McLaren suspension unit required a complete replacement rather than repair so several years ago we developed a replacement spring for all the McLaren models which was a direct OEM replacement and since then we have sold over 3,000 springs Worldwide and saved owners tens of thousands of pounds replacing dampers that had nothing wrong with them.

However for any leaking shocks we were still beholden to a replacement which was frustrating, expensive and a waste of scarce resources in a World where recycling is to be encouraged. Over the last two years we have been working with a variety of companies to provide a shock rebuild service for all McLaren suspension units and now we are finally ready.

Working closely with FastMX, one of the World’s most respected suspension companies we are now able to offer a complete rebuild service for suspension dampers for all McLaren models. Each damper is completely stripped down, all seals replaced, any damaged internals replaced, rebuilt, tested and a brand new spring added and is supplied with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. Those units supplied with an accumulator will also have a brand new accumulator supplied as well.

Dampers can be suppled as a simple sale, or if you return your damaged unit, subject to an inspection we will refund back £500 for that unit, which can then be rebuilt and supplied to the next owner.

Cost varies with model and whether the damper is a lift version or not but start from £1150 (with a new spring) saving nearly £1k over a new unit (depending on model). Please order on the site shop to select the correct unit for the correct model, if you’re unsure then contact us with your chassis number and we can confirm for you. We have build up a supply of refurbished units so delivery is usually within a few days. All of these are available through our network of dealers to contact them for your area.

Just another example where we continue to lower the costs of running a McLaren supercar.
